‘Rhythm is a Drawer’ by Sylvie De Meerleer
Artist In Residence, Sylvie De Meerleer is the first Master from Bruges showing a solo exhibition in Kunstenruimte Bogardenkapel. She’s also the first artist to present her work of art in the new, temporary Exporuimte Biekorf. Her drawings and collages reveal her quest for patterns in nature. Rhythm, recurrence and movement are the key concepts by which she creates, in the image of nature, a world packed with its splendour of shapes.
The entrance hall of the Exporuimte Biekorf also displays her in situ work ‘The Wall is as Soft as Lace’ which she realized as the Artist In Residence. In the passageway, Sylvie exhibits work with which she became the laureate at SANT2018 and there’re also some footage shown of the artist, made by photographer Emilie Bonjé.
