Van GoghHuis presents new acquisitions
Exhibition ‘Van Gogh naar nu’ ( ‘Van Gogh in the present’)
Zundert – The Vincent van GoghHuis in Zundert presents from September 5th, 2020, until February 28th, 2021, the exhibition ‘Van Gogh naar nu’. Recent acquisitions in the museum’s collection reveal that Van Gogh is still playing an inspirational role for contemporary artists. There’s a display of artists’ works having been created at the guest residence next to the Van Gogh church. They stay at the old sexton’s house to make new work inspired by Van Gogh’s hometown and its surrounding natural areas. In return for their accommodation they always donate a work of art to be added to the Van GoghHuis collection.
This exhibition showcases works from the period 2019-2020, made by Anna Lange, Sef Peeters, Judith Geerts, Ian Skirvin, Charles Laib Bitton, Caro Derkx & Mees Walter, Renske van Enckevort, Stefan Peters, Jenny Ymker, Lotte van Lieshout, Dirk Kome, Sylvie De Meerleer, Danielle Lemaire, Floor Snels, Tahné Kleijn, Ralf Kokke, Frans van Veen, Annemieke Fanoy, Jonah Falke, Arja Hop & Peter Svenson.
Furthermore, works are being exposed from artists who made a gift to the Van GoghHuis on the occasion of their exhibitions. Back then, it concerned the works of Loek Grootjans, Ronald Zuurmond, Jacco Olivier, Marenne Welten, Hans de Kort, Karin Borghouts, George Meertens and Arjan Janssen.
After-image
There’s also a particular exchange being organised with PARK - Platform for visual arts in Tilburg. The PARK-curators: Linda Arts, René Korten, Rob Moonen, Liza Voetman were the artists in residence in November 2019 in Zundert.Their works are also displayed at the Van GoghHuis. They have made a selection from the collection concerning artists who have already been working in Zundert. These artists have been invited in Tilburg for the exibition Nabeeld (After-image ) running from September 12th until October 25th, 2020. The participating artists are: Ronny Delrue, Florette Dijkstra, Arpaïs Du Bois, Heringa/Van Kalsbeek, Wiesje Peels & Steffen Maas, Lennart Lahuis, Lieven Segers, Koen Vermeule and Renée van Trier. Inversely, the Van GoghHuis exhibits in the park a sculpture group of Tom Claassen, which was formerly shown at the Blokbuster exhibition in PARK.
Auction
From October 23rd until November 1st, 2020, a charity auction will be organised via Catawiki. The parts to be auctioned come from artists who donated them for the benefit of the Van Gogh AiR project. The works can previously be viewed at the Van GoghKamer.
